Slammer, poet, and member of B.Vice (Bloc Venant de l’Intérieur Comme de l’Extérieur), Mohamed Mbaé Tahamida (aka Soly) keeps alive the memory of his friend Ibrahim Ali, another member of the hip-hop group from Marseille who, like him, lived in the La Savine district and was murdered in 1995 by a Front National activist. The musical architect and DJ of IAM, Imhotep works in parallel with different musical styles. Together they pay tribute to Ibrahim Ali : Imhotep wrote the music and Soly is accompanied on stage by two Comorian singers and a slamming DJ.
To end the evening, rapper Casey gives a cheeky and darkly sincere performance.
Before the show at La Savine : concert of Toirab.
Before the show at Friche Belle de Mai : concert of Tari.
Both evenings are part of Massilia Afropea whose programme will include many other shows at La Savine and La Friche: traditional Comorian music, DJs, master classes, events, etc.
Massilia Afropea celebrates the Afro-Europeans of Marseille, France and Europe. For its second edition on the theme of love, this multi-disciplinary event designed by the director and author Eva Doumbia takes place in the La Savine district and at La Friche la Belle de Mai from 20 to 24 June. It includes lectures and discussions with the philosopher Nadia Yala Kisukidi, the civilisationist Maboula Soumahoro and the journalist Rokhaya Diallo, performances by Rebecca Chaillon and Annabel Guérédrat, theatre by Théâtre des Deux Saisons (Nelson-Rafaell Madel) and La Part du Pauvre / Nana Triban, visual art with Myriam Mihindou and Hélène Jayet, literature with the novelist Ali Zamir, fashion designers and beauty specialists from Marseille, Paris and Brussels... and of course music!
